We are home!

Emersyn was born on May 1st, 2017 and was placed in our arms on May 4th, 2017. She was discharged on May 5th and our ICPC wait began on May 8th. We were cleared to go home on May 19th. We were in Florida about 18 days and our ICPC process took 10 business days.

We are so thankful to be home! Since returning home Emersyn has been able to meet most of her family. We have completed our first post placement visit with our social worker. We love her!

Our Adoption Story

We started our home study in October, and signed on with Christian Adoption Consultants in November. Our consultant was Leah Braly. By the middle of December we were home study approved and ready to send in our agency applications and profile books. We went active with most agencies/lawyers after the holidays were over. We received our first situation on January 4th. Over the course of the next two months we received about 20 situations. Many of those we didn't chose to present our profile to because we knew we weren't the family that baby and birth momma needed. We presented maybe 5 times including to Mama A who ultimately chose us to parent the sweet baby she was carrying. We matched with Mama A on March 31st. Our sweet baby girl was born on May 1st and we were able to see her the first time on May 4th.

How I know God writes the best stories:
1. I told my mom in January that I thought we would match through XYZ agency even through we were actively being presented through 6 or 7 different places. We ultimately matched through XYZ agency on March 31st which we only saw 2 situations through including our match the whole time we were active.
2. We had prayed very specifically about what budget God desires for us to list on our CAC application and all agency applications that followed. We really felt that God desired for us to put $30,000 which is a lower budget for domestic infant adoption and we weren't sure it would actually happen. Our match ultimately ended up being $29,000. God is in all the details!
3. We both desired and prayed to have a baby girl but felt that God wanted us to trust him and put that we were open to either gender. We presented to both girls and boys as well as unknowns. Our situation We matched with was actually unknown until birth. But God knew what we needed and gave us our sweet baby girl.
4. CAC allows you to present to only one expectant momma at a time. When we received our info about Mama A and an email asking us if we wanted our profile presented, we were already in the pool for another situation and knew that we wouldn't be able to present our profile to Mama A until we heard back from it. Even though we knew this I told my sister in law that I felt like Mama A was carrying our baby but if she was that God needed to move mountains to get us to her.
5. We needed to hear back from the first situation by a certain time on a certain day in order to be able to present to Mama A. We actually heard back that the first expectant momma did not chose us several hours later than we needed to and knew that our opportunity had passed. However, I had been in contact with XYZ agency about how we wanted to be presented if the other expectant momma didn't chose us so we let them know that she hadn't chose us and that if there was any way they hadn't showed profiles yet we wanted to be presented to Mama A. I sent them our profile and a letter for mama A.
6. The agency emailed back the next day and said that unfortunately our email was to late and that they had already presented profiles to her. HOWEVER they were going to take our profile to her the next day and present it anyways. This was amazing news because they didn't have to do this after already showing her profiles and also so special because ours was being shown separately. This was Thursday March 30th.
7. My husband found out some good news at work on Friday March 31st and had sent me a message to let me know. I told him that the only thing that could make that Friday better would be a call from the agency letting us know that Mama A had chose us but that I didn't expect to hear anything until Monday at the earliest. The agency called about two hours later to let us know that Mama A had chose us! She loved the letter we wrote to her :)

When God writes great stories Satan isn't far behind trying to discourage you.
1. On our flights to Florida the airline destroyed our baby gear which was in padded zippered bags. It looked like it had been ran over then ran over again. But God: our light landed 30 min before the baggage office closed so we were able to be reimbursed before we left the airport.
2. Our reservations in Jax were supposed to start on Thursday but baby girl wouldn't be discharged until Friday morning in a different town so we needed to get a hold of them and let them know we wouldn't be there until Friday so we weren't tagged as a no show and wouldn't loose our whole reservation. We tried all day and no one would pick up the phone. Turns out they had been struck by lightening and their whole system was down. But God: my aunt was able to fax them while we spent time with baby girl and we were able to keep our reservation and check in late.

I'd like to introduce you to our daughter Emersyn Ava. She was 9lbs 9oz and 21 inches long! She is a champion eater and sleeper!

Baby is here!!

Mama A had baby yesterday May 1st at 8:02am! We are currently in route to FL and will arrive late tonight! We were able to change our flights and make travel plans for earlier. Because of this the costs are increasing!

If you feel led to help us financially we have several ways you can do so.

1. Donate through PayPal! This is the easiest way for us to receive financial help at this point. You would send it to delaney_vines@yahoo.com

2. Check out Reborn Furnishings on Etsy! A portion of the proceeds over the next two weeks goes to our adoption.

Please be praying for Mama A's heart and for baby! Pray for smooth travels for us as we make our way to baby! We will hopefully see baby on Thursday :)

Mama A is 38 Weeks!

Adoption Update:
If you haven't read our "Matched" blog post you should go read it! We have been matched with mama "A" who is expecting a baby in about one week!!

Request:
If you or someone you know has an excess supply of pumped milk we would love to talk with them about donating it to us to feed sweet baby!

Travel Update:
We will most likely be traveling next week!!
We have had our flights gifted to us. Our plan is currently to drive back! So we will only need a rental car for 1 or 2 days now!

We requested that you pray with us about our travel. We needed to find a place to stay for about 2 weeks that wouldn't break the bank. We have been offered 1 night in a hotel close to the hospital and one week, maybe two, through RCI for $300/week. As long as there is a place available this is what we plan to do.

We will be spending two nights at least in a hotel. If you have hotel reward points that you would be interested in donating please let us know!

Our bags are packed and we are ready for a call about baby!

Fundraising Update:
Our yard sale raised $1452.55! Our LuLaRoe fundraiser raised $930.50! Our auction raised $1846.00. You guys that means in less than a month we raised $4224.05! We have reached 61% of our ultimate goal of $30,000 (yes, God is good and it is lower than anticipated!). We still have a ways to go but are so thankful for everyone that has supported us so far.  The remainder of our fees will be due once papers have been signed! I had said that we wouldn't be planning any new fundraisers at this time besides our current t-shirt campaign! However, I was contacted by a sweet owner of the Etsy shop ReBorn Furnishings about donating a percent of their profits to our family for two weeks starting May 1st.

1. ReBorn Furnishings
I was contacted by a sweet owner of the Etsy shop ReBorn Furnishings about donating a percent of their profits to our family for two weeks starting May 1st. This is a local family that has a heart for adoptive families and helping them bring their little ones home! We are so thankful that they chose to donate to us as their May Family.

2. T-shirts
Today is the last day to purchase a t-shirt through Bonfire!

3. 300 for $100
We have a page link that explains this more.

4. Puzzle Fundraiser
We still have puzzle pieces for sale. It is $20 to adopt a piece but you can adopt as many as you want. We also have a page link that describes this in more detail.

Ways you can help:
1.  Prayer!! I have posted a list of prayer requests below.
2. We are still short some of the funds that will be due at birth. You can make a tax deductible donation through our AdoptTogether website or through our Youcaring website.
3. If you have unused gift cards for restaurants that you don't plan on using and would like to gift to us we would love to have them!
4. We would also appreciate and travel tips you have for traveling with baby gear and a newborn. We will more than likely fly so that we can get there quick!

Prayer requests over the coming month:
1. Pray for mama "A" to have a peace about her decision. Pray for her heart.
2. Pray for God to guide us as we start to build a relationship with mama "A"
3. Please start praying now for our ICPC process. That it would go smooth and be quick so that we would be able to head home. We are specifically praying that we are home by Mother's Day
4. Pray for peace for us over the coming 2 weeks! As exciting as this is, there is also some anxiety with it.
5. Pray that God would work out our travel details!
 6. Pray that God would continue to protect mama "A" and the sweet baby she is carrying.

The Countdown is on!

Adoption Update:
If you haven't read our "Matched" blog post you should go read it! We have been matched with mama "A" who is expecting a baby in about two weeks!! We had our first contact with mama A this week and she was so sweet and really loves the baby she is carrying and has such a strong desire to do what she thinks is right for the baby. We have loaded the base for the car seat into the car as well as the stroller and bassinet that we plan to fly with. We also had a huge blessing this week. We had a family member offer to donate breast milk she has pumped to us! This is such a blessing to us because we weren't able to care for the baby for the last nine months so we want to be able to do anything we can to care for the baby's health now. God worked in the details in this too and provided in perfect timing. Her parents are coming from GA to AR to visit at the end of the month and are going to bring it with them. If you or someone you know has an excess supply of pumped milk we would love to talk with them about donating it to us to feed sweet baby!

If you have any rapid rewards points that you'd be willing to donate please let us know. Southwest will let you gift them or transfer them (I believe it costs $50) to us.

We are still having issues with finding a rental car for a decent price. We are both 24 and won't be 25 until after the baby is born so it is making booking a rental car difficult. Let us know if you have any tips!

Fundraising Update:
Our yard sale raised $1452.55! Our LuLaRoe fundraiser raised $930.50! Our auction raised $1841.00. You guys that means in less than a month we raised $4224.05! We still have a ways to go but are so thankful for everyone that has supported us so far.  The remainder of our fees will be due once papers have been signed so pray with us that God provides over the next month! We still have several fundraisers going on but since baby is due in ONE MONTH!! we won't be planning any new fundraisers at this time besides our current t-shirt campaign!

We have relaunched our t-shirt fundraiser through Bonfire! This time we decided to release them in fun spring colors!

We are MATCHED!!

Well, we got the most important phone call to date Friday afternoon! (3/31/17 @ 2:42pm CST). Sweet mama "A" picked us to be the parents of the sweet baby she is carrying! The baby is due May 10th! So we have around 36 days until the baby is here!! While we are pretty sure we know the gender we won't be announcing it until birth along with the name we have picked out! We will be traveling to Florida in a month and will most likely be there around 2 weeks. Once mama "A" (prayerfully) signs paperwork, we will be granted custody of the baby and then we will have to be approved by both states to cross state lines with the baby. This process is known as ICPC (Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children). It takes anywhere from 7-15 business days!

We have had a blast telling our friends and family over the last several days and buying a few gender specific baby items. We chose to wait to make this post public until we had officially signed our match paperwork!

If you read the last blog post you know that God moved mountains to allow us to present to sweet mama "A". If you haven't read it yet you should go read it! You guys, God is Good!! We are so thankful and in utter amazement at the story we've been given so far. We had a few desires and prayer requests since beginning this process and God has so graciously answered those so far. It is so clear that this is where God desires us to be right now. We can't wait to see where God leads us in the coming months and how He continues to work in this amazing match!

Ways you can help:
1.  Prayer!! I have posted a list of prayer requests below.
2. We are still short some of the funds that will be due at birth. We have an auction coming up this Thursday and Friday on Instagram if you'd like to support us by bidding on items. You can also make a tax deductible donation through our AdoptTogether website.
3. If you have or know anyone that has airline miles that would go toward or buy an airline ticket that they would consider donating please let us know!
4. If you know anyone that has vacation property or a separate apartment at there house that they won't be staying in the first couple of weeks of May that they would like to donate or discount for us please let us know!
5. If you know how to get a rental car cheaper let us know!

4. Pray for peace for us over the coming month! As exciting as this news is, there is also some anxiety with it.
5. Pray that God would work out our travel details! We need to be able to find a place to stay in FL with a kitchen, that won't be outrageous in price for a possibly 2 week stay.
6. Pray for us to have a peace about how to get to Florida. We could drive so that we have a car while there but the 16 hour drive back with a newborn seems like a lot. We could also fly and get a rental car there but that adds to our costs.
7. Pray that God would continue to protect mama "A" and the sweet baby she is carrying.
